Hope @ Lake Norman (Helping Other People Excel at Lake Norman) is a new not-for-profit 501c3 organization in the Lake Norman area. Being new, has not stopped HOPE @ Lake Norman (HOPE@LKN) from being active in the community. Established in December, HOPE@LKN provided bicycles for children in shelter and “outreach” programs through “Presents for Pediatrics” at Lake Norman Regional. “First, we wanted to develop a good representation of our community by inviting recognizable and respectful community members to serve on our Board of Directors,” said spokesperson Steve Taylor. “Since it is a volunteer organization, it was difficult to get folks to commit their time. Finally, we got what we were after, folks committed to the same core values and principles of our organization.” |
